sept-nov .... the dreaded wording of my invites ....

Well since I havn't written in this for awhile, I thought I'd post an update.

first.. well the wording for the invites has been haunting me.  AS you read this blog you know I am not good at wording things..  I have to live with Dyslexia.. yay.. lovely..   I try and try and try but I am just not good at writing or with words.  Ya, I know.. you knew that already.. So, we are now back to the wording of my invites.  UGH!   AND since ONLY TWO relitives are coming to the handfasting neither being my parents (you'd understand if you knew why).. can't do the ol' fashion the daughters parents invite you to their daughters wedding thing.. I have to come up with my own.. HA!  ya right..  SO, I did the next best thing.. I asked my FB friends for HELP!!!!...  and it worked :D  got lots of great, wonderful, thoughtful and helpful ideas!!  I love love love my fb family :D  they are the coolest people on the PLANET!!!

So, without further ado.. here is what I came up with.  (and please add comments.. and NO laughing (lol/lmao ect.) at the spelling and grammar issues.. because you won't like what I tell ya, if you do. HELPFUL and spelling/grammer fixes are OK.... this time.)

We cordially invite you to bear whitness to our handfasting Celebration

August and september.

I started making favors (and searching for stuff ) in August.
Casey's wood products has been my greatest find so far!!! http://www.caseyswood.com/  they have everything and I mean EVERYTHING wood.

booked both the cake and the venue (both which were hard to do).

wow, what an exhausting adventure this has become!!!

9 months and counting

almost 9 months in counting until our handfasting. this is the stuff I have DONE!
favors found (and most paid for)
rings bought (his etsy and mine ebay)
my cloak bought and on its way to me (using as a veil)
venue booked (the The Lookout Inn Inc. in brookin,ME) w/ a food menu sort of set
cake booked (Queen City Cakes in bangor,ME)

things I still have to do:
pay for my dress and get measurements for it!!! (stressing me OUT!! )
a collar and lead for Merlin from trendy hounds
special gifts for those helping.. being paid next month and next year
invites found and being paid for next month
groom gift..  well since he is using his fb page can't tell ya, but is being bought soon
table cloths and napkins are being bought hopefully this month with haul money (cheaper to buy them, then to rent!)
colors for handfasting cord and to buy it (etsy)
treats for tables/favor bags .. pay for next May
something for Jeff to wear.. buy next year
bought a server set and something to toast with (no ideas at all)
and I am going to do something special for those assistance dogs coming with their handlers.... because after all they are human too :D

other then that I think I am about done :D

10 months and counting

TO date..
I have actually done quite a bit.  I found a dress (and contacted the person), a cloak (deposit on it), have done LOTS of things for the reception (got to try to figure out how to post photos).  my theme is nautical and the ocean.. So, I bought lots of wood stuff from Casey's wood products,   bought some jute, glue, paint, and am having fun making my own favors, plus I am buying lots too.. Since crafting is a HUGE part of my life, I am incorporating that love into my handfasting..  and everything (well almost) is made IN maine or of course by myself (and friends/family).
I will add the crafts to a crafty post as well as links to the other stuff I am getting.

the work as begun

the work...
ugh, as always its where the heck do I start?  Where? defently a handfasting. do I contact a planner? or do I do it myself?

- person to do ceremony
-linens, tablecloths, silverware or plasticware
-cake artist
-recepetion
-favor bags/favors/decorations for tables
-guests
-maid of honor/best man
-who the heck is giving me away?!?!?!?  won't be my father that's for sure, to have this biggest honor one must give respect to get it.
-dress

.
omg.. so much to do!!! How does anyone do this alone??!?!?!?!!!?
